DecoLeaves
DecoLeaves is a wrap-around style shirt that allows the wearer to customize their outfit by moving the smartphone in the shirt pocket without others noticing. It's designed to turn heads without being too over the top. The technology used in the shirt utilizes two NFC based wireless energy harvesting components hidden inside the pocket. They allow the wearer to change the color in the leaf-shaped electrochromatic (EC) displays on shoulder.
The shirt was realized in the LUX research group of University of Lapland and was supported by a grant from the Academy of Finland as part of the TechFashion – Design of Future Wearable Computing project. It was also accepted into the ISWC design exhibition upon completion.

ADW 2020 exhibition

The exhibition for Arctic Design Week (ADW) featured printed fabrics designed by five clothing designers, which reflect the anticipation of spring and light after darkness. My work is called "Mirror of Light".
The detailed digital plan is printed on the fabric and the finished fabric is shaped on the mannequin in a dress shape. Starting point for the design were things (detail, uniqueness) that the printing technology makes possible. The print contains photos taken by the designer combined with different colors. Each image has a light-reflecting element, hence the name "Mirror of Light".

Children's clothing collection
The Starapuku collection is a printed clothing collection consisting of gymnastics suits, which has been realized in cooperation with EMD (now Swoop Studio). The collection is aimed especially towards young gymnasts. The design experiment of the collection (Marvelous designer) was made as part of the children's clothing course at the University of Lapland. Collection consists of different patterns and pattern color variations. With them, the costumes adapt to many themes and stories.
The gymnastics suits are a significant part of the team gymnastics competition culture. It is the part that makes competition performances artistic together with music, choreography and theme. The design of the suit must take into account the exact criteria set by the competition rules, so that the suit does not hinder the gymnasts during the competition performance and does not disturb the judges when evaluating the performance.

Evening dress collection
The collection was designed as a project for the women's inner wear collection course at the University of Lapland. The collection consists of three different SS20 themes: Biovation, Compassion and Variegation.
A woman wants to be stylish and stand out from the crowd. She is aware of the environment and wants to be exemplary with her own actions. She wants the clothes to be adaptable according to mood, atmosphere and occasion as well as avoid accumulation of excess clothes.
The collection has been designed with these wishes in mind. Its evening dresses are simple. Of interest are the different pleats, cuts as well as parts that can be attached and changed to the dresses. This way, with a small change, the suit gets a new look and can be used several times. Parts can also be combined using different fashion season styles, which brings out the wearer's personality.

Men's clothing collection
A little, but more is a collection designed as a project for the Men's Clothing course at the University of Lapland. The concept of the collection is customizable clothes and a small wardrobe, which will do just fine regardless of the size. Each of the clothes can be customized in their own way to suit the user/use situation.

Gala robe
The gala robe was selected for productisation from an evening wear collection. The robe has a graphic pattern cut from black leather with a water jet cutter, which forms an open lattice armor on the shoulders. Underneath it is sewn white chiffon, which creates a beautiful contrast. There is a light chiffon robe on the back, which highlights the connection between light and heavy material. The pleats that descend on the arms complete the sophisticated atmosphere. Implemented as a project of the Productivity course at the University of Lapland and in cooperation with REDU. Information about the working group is available upon request.

Reflector and lights as innovation
The project of the Innovation course at the University of Lapland sets out to solve dangerous situations based on human forgetfulness and the possibility of preventing them. The product combines practicality, technology and a visually beautiful and user-friendly shape.
The idea of the work is to bring reflectors more easily into people's everyday lives. They always travel with you and can be attached to any clothing if necessary. Small LED lights are also attached to the reflectors, the color of which can be changed as desired. With the help of the lights, visibility is also improved for oncoming drivers who do not notice the reflectors.

Aurora
The Aurora accessory is a detachable belt that can be attached to the outfit, the inspiration of which comes from the beautiful light phenomena created by the solar wind - the northern lights.
The northern lights have been brought into wearable form by combining electronic components with textile materials. With these, an aurora borealis-like effect is created in an otherwise dark outfit, which is best seen in the dark.
The accessory uses programmed technology and LED lamps that can be adjusted to different colors. They are programmed to change color at certain intervals in different shades of the Northern Lights. An optical fiber is attached to the ends of the lamps, with the help of which the light is directed into an aurora-like shape. Implemented As a coursework of the Innovative Textiles and Fashion course at the University of Lapland.

Well-being
The collection I designed in the Well-being course at the University of Lapland is inspired by the idea of how doing things with your hands affects concentration, attentiveness and thus learning.
Every piece of clothing designed for the collection has some detail that allows you to tinker with your hands. Clothes have, for example, buttons that can be opened and closed; ribbons that can be tied and chains that can be combined in different ways. At the same time, it is possible to slightly change the appearance of the garment.
